My name is Dan Dombrowski and I am running for Mayor of Muskego. I have lived here in Muskego my entire life. My family consists of my mother (Margaret Dombrowski), father (Ken Dombrowski), and one brother (Jimmy Dombrowski). My family atmosphere was Italian rooted from my mother's side and Polish from my father's side. I could not have asked for a better childhood and city to grow up in. My education started at Tess Corners Elementary, then Bay Lane Middle School, and finally Muskego High School.
When I was Director of Legislative Affairs, I had the opportunity to be involved with politics during the 2018 midterm elections. I created a series of events called the 2018 Midterm Election Series. This consisted of multiple meet and greet events for candidates like the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, other local, state, and federal candidates. This gave students the opportunity to meet all of the candidates while still going to school. In total, I brought twelve candidates to campus. I consider this to be one of my greatest achievements while going to school. During my educational career, I had two part time jobs. One of them being an intern at my current occupation, T/C Risk Management Services. The other was Director of Marketing and Sales for a local Platteville company called High Country Group. Trap shooting and participating with the Rugby team were sports I was involved with while in college. Towards the end of my collegiate career, I was nominated for the Chancellor's Medallion Award and Honorary Lifetime Pioneer Award at the annual leadership awards ceremony. I was incredibly humbled to receive these awards from my peers.
After I graduated college, I started working full time at T/C Risk Management Services, LLC as a Safety Risk Control Consultant. Some of my tasks include providing OSHA compliance solutions and safety training for construction, general industry, and the oil/gas industries. One part of my job includes traveling the country and solving issues for clients. I have been everywhere from Minot, ND to New York City, NY to Pecos, TX. These experiences have provided me with a global mindset and business approach to any situation. I work with all levels of business which include laborers, labor unions, middle management, financial departments, owners, and executive board staff. Some perks of being a consultant is being able to meet and interact with new people on a daily basis. Additionally, I currently serve as a committee member for the NARI (National Association of the Re-modelers Industry) Milwaukee Governmental Relations Committee. This committee provides oversight on current legislation going through the state legislature. Another part time job I have is a Marketing Representative for a local brewery called SteelTank Brewing Company. SteelTank is headquartered out of New Berlin. We are currently in the process of opening our first taproom in Oconomowoc.
Growing up, I played football with the Muskego Junior Warriors in middle school. Eventually, I played football for the Muskego Warriors in high school. One of my proudest moments in middle school was participating in being one of the first members of the Muskego Warriors Trap Shooting Club. The club has grown into a substantial club for kids to shoot trap at Muskego and surrounding schools. It also creates an environment of excellence and success for kids to be a part of.
Following high school, I attended UW-Platteville and graduated in four years with a bachelors of science degree in occupational safety management. During my tenure at UW-Platteville, I held multiple positions on executive boards that include: Vice-President and President of the Pioneer Sportsman’s Club, Vice-President of the College Republicans, Secretary and Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, Student Senator for the College of BILSA (Business, Industry, Life Sciences, and Agriculture), Campus Captain of Students for Scott Walker, and then finally Director of Legislative Affairs for Student Senate.
